Once of his classics apparently. As usual lots of great elements but not quite tied together. The ending is especially lacking. That said, the reader is kept guessing constantly and never bored.

Although on a complete different subject to the alchemist its still a little too romantic. Its the story of a Brazilian girl who becomes a prostitute in Europe, but with a suspiciously happy, though apparently true, ending.

Surprisingly easy to read tale of the search the theory of everything (TOE) and in particular the current best hope: string theory. Perhaps thats because he really doesn't go into any gory details at all. Because of this lack of detail, the main feeling I get from this book is that the stuff they are dealing with in string theory today is way, way, way beyond my comprehension. Makes you want to go back to school and take theoretical physics classes.

Sci-fi inverted. Pilip K. Dick turns his attention on the past. Genius. I picked up a 1962 edition of this book that clearly isn't on amazon, so this ISBM is from one of the more current editions.
